Als Linked-in Nutzer geschieht es immer wieder, dass die Nutzungsbedingungen geändert und mit der aktualisierten Weiternutzung auch fast "automatisch" akzeptiert werden.
Dieses Mal, ab dem 12. September 2013, werden erneut solche Änderungen vorgenommen und dem Nutzer in der folgenden Notiz zur Verfügung gestellt. Auf Englisch - und nur auf Englisch:
Summary of Changes to LinkedIn Privacy Policy
We have revised our Privacy Policy as of September 12, 2013.
This summary is intended to facilitate your review and understanding of the changes to the Privacy Policy. However, please take the time to read the full document, as you will be bound by its terms when you view, access or otherwise use LinkedIn’s online services.
Importantly, as mentioned the User Agreement and its summary, we have changed the minimum age of a person to access LinkedIn’s online services. LinkedIn is not available to children under 13, but the minimum age to become a member of LinkedIn will be anywhere from 13 to 18 years old depending on the country, as described in Section 2.3.
Also, we have made the following clarifications to our existing Privacy Policy:
Intro: We made minor changes to explain why we updated the Privacy Policy (to enhance your understanding of how we treat your data).
Section 1.2.: In our description of what we use your registration information for, we added a reference to customized and language-specific “content.”
Section 1.4.: We explain that we use your uploaded address book information to recommend connections to you “and others”, including showing you and other LinkedIn members that you share the same uploaded contacts who may or may not be LinkedIn members, in order to help you build your network and be better connected. We also changed the explicit reference to “Rapportive” to refer to LinkedIn software tools in order to accommodate branding changes and new products in the future. We also removed some duplicative language from this section.
Section 1.9.: We added clarifying language to indicate that LinkedIn uses advertising technology both on and off LinkedIn – to help us serve more relevant advertising on LinkedIn.
Section 1.10.: We added some minor clarifying language around device operating system details that we receive when you access LinkedIn using a mobile device.
Section 2.1.: We clarified that you can change your consent to LinkedIn’s collection and processing of your information at any time by changing your profile (in addition to whatever settings changes you may make (or if you close your account).
Section 2.5.: Explains in better detail that LinkedIn may share your information with, or receive information from affiliates including SlideShare when you bind your LinkedIn and SlideShare accounts.
Section 2.6. : We explain that third parties may look up your LinkedIn information through developer integrations (profile look up) based on email or name information. Additionally, we clarify that you may be able to upload your LinkedIn contacts to another service, where applicable.
Section 3.2.: We clarify that we only retain plugin impression data for up to 7 days.
Section 4.1.: We insert a specific reference to our Safety Center.
Eigentlich ist es notwendig, die sogenannten Privacy Policy- und die User-Agreement-Vereinbarungen hier nicht nur als Link einzustellen, sondern auch zu sichern, da sonst bei der nächsten Änderungen ein direkter Vergleich mit der alten, bisher gültigen Fassung nicht mehr möglich ist.
