Nachdem am Vortrag eine Online-Teilnahme aus technischen Möglichkeiten nicht möglich war, haben wir heute einen erneuten Versuch gestartet - und waren schlussendlich erfolgreich. Dieses Panel ist ein ’must’ für alle, die über die Wahlen in den USA 2024 berichten (werden) - wohl wissend, dass die hier auftretenen Personen in einem Medienumfeld arbeiten, das schon lange nicht mehr die Mehrheit der US-Bürger anzusprechen vermag:
Margaret Talev beobachtet den Wahlkampf auch aus Forschungsperspektive. Sie leitet das Institute for Democracy, Journalism and Citizenship an der Syracuse University in Washington D.C. Laut Umfragen haben nur noch 14 bis 16 Prozent der amerikanischen Bevölkerung Vertrauen in traditionelle Medien. Die Mehrheit nutze die sozialen Medien als Hauptinformationsquelle, insbesondere in diesem Wahlkampf, sagt Talev.
